ER Adoption

ER Adoption

Emma Grace was a little tiny baby brought into the world by a young drug using, smoking mother who had the sense to realize she couldn't care for her, and put her up for adoption (a wise decision), but Emma Grace wasn't an ordinary baby; she was born two weeks premature (at only around four pounds) and was missing her pulmonary artery.

Doctors and nurses worked around the clock to make sure this little lady was well cared for, and even held a baby shower for her in the ICU unit. All wonderful touches, but they still fell short of a family. An adoptive mother backed out at the last minute. It seemed hopeless. Then Daniel Monroe, a cardiac surgery nurse, saw the fuss and questioned where her parents were. Upon hearing that she had none, he knew that he, his wife, and son would want to be her forever family.

Talk about taking your work home with you! This heartwarming story is an incredible reminder that love can be found in amazing and unexpected places. Would you consider adopting a child with health issues? [MSNBC]
