Media Detox Coming Right Up!

Sarah McColl pens a blog called the “Pink of Perfection” where she recently started a monthly experiment called “Pop Project.” April's project asked readers to take themselves out on a date, however they want to interpret that (dinner out by yourself, novel-reading in bed), and May is all about a “7-day media detox.”

More than that, however, it’s about paying closer attention to one’s television, radio, internet and other media outlet habits. Why are you channel surfing? Why are you shoe-shopping online for hours? Many of us probably ask these same questions, pondering our behaviors and, perhaps, wanting to curb some of them.

Wanting to make a change and actually doing so are sometimes two different things, of course. Sarah asks those who want to participate in any of the projects to email her and blog about their experience in the process. There are certainly changes we can make on our own, but having buddies, like running partners, can be a great catalyst.

Have you ever formed a group, even a virtual one, in order to make a change? [Pinkofperfection.com]
