Bad Robot! Bad!

Bad Robot! Bad!

Dogs and vacuum cleaners are not exactly a match made in heaven. Howling, wailing, hiding under the couch—you’ve probably seen it all. Well, how about throwing a robot vacuum into the mix? Yeah, now your new pet is going to go wiiild!

If you are finding this situation all too familiar, you might be thrilled to know that in discussion forums for these robo vacuums, people are talking about their crazy puppies, too! And you wanna know what works? Scolding sternly, “No __________ (fill in the name of your super-cool auto cleaner)! BAD!” Dogs apparently backed off after seeing this behavior from their owners.

Another trick, if your pup is bold enough to attack or bite…paint on some hot sauce to the victimized area and when he or she goes in for a sniff, noooo way.

And if you’re in the mood for a laugh and want to feel better (because you haven’t vacuumed in weeks!) check out this video of a three round fight between dog and robot. We promise you’ll love it.

How do you handle your dog’s fear of the vacuum? [Wall Street Journal]
