Forgotten Friends of the Financial Crisis

The economic downturn has brought on many unexpected consequences—one of which is a rise in the number of homeless pets. Abandoning a house sometimes translates into leaving everything behind, including the family cat or dog. First Coast News reports that because many people find themselves having to take up residence in pet-unfriendly apartments, shelter populations are surging and new homes are hard to find.
