Puppy Cam

Puppy Cam

By now, you've probably heard of and/or seen the Shiba Inu Puppy Cam, video of teeny Shiba Inu puppies on UStream.

The video recently reached an internet milestone—15 million views for a combined 773 viewer years (read: people are really being unproductive at work.)

We hear the video started as a way for the owners to keep an eye on the pups while they were away during the day...but they also clearly care about breeding these animals and finding them loving homes. They even warn viewers not to buy dogs from puppy mills or over the internet, saying they should always do their research and find a reputable breeder. Sounds like good pet adoption advice to us!

Are you considering adopting a pet for the holidays or in the new year? Does the puppy cam make you want a Shiba Inu? I know I'd get one if it weren't for the smallness of my NY studio. And the walking-a-dog-in-the-snow thing. But gosh darn, those puppies sure are cute! -Kristen Ball

Oh my gosh, I'm hearing about the puppy cam everywhere all of a sudden! I have a co-worker who loves it and watches it all the time! As for getting a new pet for the holidays -- no way. We have a cat and until we get a real house someday in Dreamland, that's all we have the time, space, and money for. But someday we'd like to get Phyllis (our cat) a friend to play with.
