I think they work, especially if you put a photo. I created a flier on Link . They also allow you to post an online ad too. Someone in my neighborhood saw our dog in the back alley and called the number listed. I was so thrilled to see him again!

I think they do help. A neighbor lost her dog,2 weeks later it was found in another city close by and returned because of the fliers.We made sure that we took fliers to the Animal Shelters,the County Dog Pounds and to all the Vets and Clinics in and around town.I hope they find their Puppy.

However, be wary of scams. There are scumbags out there. In one scam, someone sees your flier and calls your number. They tell you your dog is injured but they'll only give him back if you mail a check for the vet bill.

Or even worse, they they work in pairs. One calls to collect information, tricking you into giving details about your dog such as peculiar markings. Then the caller says, "Oh, sorry, this isn't him. He isn't marked that way at all." The other person calls the next day and repeats the detailed information that you gave out the day before. So it seems like they must have your dog since they know so much! And you *want* to believe it. Then they ask for a reward, repayment of a vet bill,etc.

As a pet owner I always look at the fliers to see if it's anyone I know from the neighborhood. I have heard some stories of dogs being reunited with their owners. I don't know how much can be attributed to the fliers, but I have to imagine they help. I don't know what I would do if I lost my dog ... he's such a big part of my life.

That's quite sad! I too hold out hope that animals are returned to loving homes.

I've seen lots of posters in my neighborhood lately for dogs and cats for sale. Do you suppose people are struggling to care for and feed their pets and really need the money?
