Hit the Shower!

Hit the Shower!

It’s the twenty-first century and men and women are working closer to equal rights each day. Women can vote, run their own companies, and be president (well, we’ll see...). Men can be nurses, flight attendants, and... have their own baby showers.

Daddy baby showers are the wave of the future, and why not? Daddy’s going to be spending many a sleepless night taking turns with the bundle of joy; he’ll be changing some of those fragrant diapers and helping make sure the little tyke doesn’t fall down the laundry chute. Sure, dads don’t have to go through that whole “pregnancy” thing, or endure the excruciating pain of childbirth, but shouldn’t they have some sort of congratulatory man-fest to celebrate the impending arrival of their progeny?

Many men, and women, think so. Carol D. Motley writes all about the daddy baby shower (or daddy bath as she calls it) in a recent article. She suggests that it be held concurrently with the estrogen-fest/baby shower – so that the men can go off and do their thing while the ladies are doing theirs. She also gives lots of great ideas for the event – everything from shower games like baby Jeopardy (test the future father’s parenting knowledge), to clever shower gifts for him, such as a manly diaper bag. This ezine article also presents some great daddy shower suggestions.

What do you think of this new trend, dad? Would you like to jump in the shower?

I agree! Men should be involved in the baby shower, it's their kid too!!!

Why not it's a good idea and different, While one party's going on for the women they should have one for the Men why not, extra gifts. But back to the subject at hand, Men should be more involved in the care and up bring of the child. It can't hurt.
