Question:What's a good age for their first ball game?

I have a friend who says that age seven is a perfect age to bring a child to a baseball game. I've seen children much younger, I just wonder how much they understand about what is going on.

Answer:

I'm going to cop out and say, "It Depends." I've taken all of my kids to a ball game and my oldest daughter was fine for 7 innings when she was 6, but she has always had a calm nature. My son on the other hand just turned seven and we had a very fun 4 innings about a month ago, but after the snow cone and peanuts were gone he pretty much lsot interest. If the kid is interested in sports then they will start to understand things by seven, but they probably won't appreciate staying at a whole game until 11 or 12. IMHO - Melsar
