Baby Bottle Drama
A few months back, new moms and pops were warned about a little chemical called bisphenol A (BPA), which is found in plastics, cans and baby bottles. A slew of studies were performed on rodents and they revealed that even a small amount BPA could potentially be harmful, especially to the tiniest members of the family.
Now a new study by the European Food Safety Authority shows when humans (i.e. not rats and other rodents) are exposed to BPA, our bodies eliminate the substance and no harm can be done to our bodies, big or small.
Now the question on our minds is, if the first study was so down on BPA—claiming it could cause hyperactivity in children—should we believe that this chemical is completely safe now? Does BPA just have a bad rep?
Are glass baby bottles the way to go for not only the fear of the chemicals in plastic, but also because they are eco-friendly? Have you switched or thought about switching to glass baby bottles? Has this study changed your mind? [Reuters]
