What is the one piece of advice that really helped?
Everyone always offers up their advice and tips to new moms/dads. Is there one thing someone said or suggested to you that really helped you get through that early period - you know, when you're exhausted beyond words and have no clue what you're doing?
You know what is best for your baby, if everyone tells you to do something or the latest triend is something but your gut tells you to do something completely different go with your gut.
The one thing someone told me that helped a lot believe it or not is when you burp your baby rock from side to side not front to back. Works like a charm.
RELAX!! DON'T TRY TO BE SUPER MOM & DON'T CONCERN YOURSELF WITH OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINIONS ABOUT YOU AND WHAT YOU DO! Don't remember who gave the advice but it helped me through the "dead on your feet" early period of child hood.
I think a good suggestion is to remember that it's okay to ask for help! If you have a good friend or family member who has children, ask advice about balancing everything. You're very much not alone but it can feel that way.
