Parents Need thier Booster Shots
While much has been made about vaccinating our kids, many parents don't realize that they also need to keep up with their own shots to prevent health risks for their children. While most of us were vaccinated as kids, those immunities have now worn off. With that in mind, pediatricians suggest parents, grandparents, day care workers, and anyone else that is regularly around kids should receive booster shots.
The big booster right now is to prevent pertussis (whooping cough), which has become widespread in the community and easily spread from person to person. In fact, many hospitals are offering it to new parents before they leave the hospital after delivery.
It's worth at least talking to your primary care physician or pediatrician about the pros and cons of booster shots.
