I saw this in Parenting: a new site called Totspot.com lets parents create a networking page for their kids, with status updates (ie. "Jane is walking now" "Joe loves his veggies!") and photo uploads. And only people you personally invite can have access to the page, so you don't have to worry about any weirdos looking at photos of your kids. Check it out at Link

I'm a member of bellyhood.com, a social network for moms. One of their applications allows users to create child profiles which are linked to the parent profile.
I think it's really neat and a great way to share the development of your child with family and friends.
