Stop Saying "I'm Fine!"
“Dumb Little Man” seems like a counterintuitive name for a blog about “finding a better way to live each day,” but that is Jay White’s primary intention. Noticing how his time vanished after becoming a “family man,” he vowed to pay more attention to living life simpler, but in a fulfilling way at the same time. That could mean finding a shortcut for a mundane activity, being health-conscious or being happier.
Alex Shalman, one of the site’s writers, takes issue with the quintessential answer to that common how-are-you question: “I’m fine.” Rather than be satisfied with this answer, and subsequently the mediocre state it implies, she encourages readers with her “7 Ways to Have The Greatest Day of Your Life.” Wow, that’s a tall order!
Shalman’s seven ways are these: decide that fine is bad, have a relationship with yourself, upgrade yourself, create huge possibilities, love your hardest, use positive self-talk and be God-like (meaning to be giving of your time and wisdom). The common thread that runs through all of these is the decision to want that greatest day and to go after it.
