Question:How have you managed morning sickness?

Morning sickness is my biggest pre-pregnancy fear! Especially since I live in an urban area and spend a least a few hours per day trapped underground in a subway. I definitely don't want to be nauseous in THAT situation. What has worked for you?

It's a valid fear! I braved two hours of daily commuting on the NYC Subway, and that was with gestational diabetes, which can increase nausea and fatigue. My tricks were the following:

Staying hydrated (which also alleviates Braxton Hicks contractions) especially with citrus juices

ALWAYS CARRY ALTOIDS! Ginger and peppermint both really help

Eat small, frequent meals and always carry something plain and crunchy with you

Deep breathing and meditation help oxygenate the blood, and relieve nausea

Exercise and fresh air. Take daily walks, regardless of the weather, and make sure to periodically get up from your desk and stretch and prop your feet up when you can to reduce swelling and water retention.

Stay away from greasy foods. These can increase the tummy yuckies

You'll probably still feel sick sometimes, but those things help
