Question:I broke up with my partner; we were together 12 years. In fact, I suggested that he find someone else. He did and is apparently happy. Now I am so remorseful, guilt-ridden and regret what I have done. I am devastated and alone and want him back. How do I

He found someone and very quickly they were living together. I was stunned at how they moved so fast. I guess I had thought he would not find someone so easily and quickly.
I now blame myself for most of our problems and feel I was arrogant and insensitive, though I know he also contributed to our problems. I find it hard to function day to day, thinking of them together.

Answer:

I am sorry to hear that things have gotten pretty bad for you. Why did you break up with him? I think if you concentrate on those reasons, it will help you to feel better and will validate your choice. Jealousy is common when an ex finds a new love. These feelings of regret may just be feelings of jealousy.
