Finding and buying a new home that’s perfect for you and your family can take some time. Lately, however, it seems homebuyers are taking even longer to let go of the home they leave behind.
The New York Times reports a growing trend in homeowners who are unwilling to leave once a home sale is complete. Some deal with bouts of depression and others try to recapture lost memories by searching for a similar space in a different location—only to return to the place from which they started.
With the housing market in a state of upheaval, it is wise to acknowledge that the buying and selling of homes is not just a financial decision, but an emotional decision as well.
