Houses are expensive, so you might be open to trying something different to save some bucks when buying a home. The U.S. Justice Department has taken the first steps to insure that online agents are allowed access to the same listings as their traditional counterparts. The settlement is still awaiting court approval, but is likely to be accepted.
If you choose to enlist with these often-discounted services, you can expect to save up to 1% of the total price. However, the National Association of Realtors can block some housing available through its own resources until the agreement is official—still limiting the amount of properties you have to choose from.
