Wake Up and S-t-r-e-t-c-h
If you have a dog or a cat, watch what they do first when they get up in the morning or from a nap. (If you don’t have one, borrow a friend’s.) They don’t fluff their fur, slurp a hot beverage and jump online to see if it’s warm enough for a walk, that’s for sure. They stretch.
Not to improve circulation and posture, increase range of motion, prevent injury, relieve sore muscles, reduce stress or relax their minds (all proven benefits of stretching). At least, not on purpose. They stretch because it feels good. And, if it feels good....
Try it sometime. According to Dr. Laura Inverarity at About.com, morning stretching is a great way to “waken” your muscles and jumpstart your day.
Maybe your pets will stretch with you.

That's awesome! I have a cat too! I love when she stretches after a nap or in the morning! It looks so relaxing! I too say, "Stretch it out!" Yet, somehow I always neglect my own stretching! I need to be more mindful of adding this in my daily routine!
