One Step at a Time
Baby steps.
Making a huge change all at once is a recipe for disaster. Faced with discomfort, 99 times out of 100 we fall back on familiar ways, even if they are self-destructive. To ensure success with big changes, you need to get sneaky. Make the forward steps so small you barely notice them.
For example, to decrease spending, don’t just quit buying coffee at work cold turkey. Cut back to every other day and on off days, still bring it from home.
Regardless of the change you’re working towards, remember that moving forward at all is huge. Pat yourself on the back for even small improvements. Even if things go more slowly than you’d like, it’s way faster than starting back at the beginning.
What small steps can you take today and every day to reach your goals?
