The Best Way to Change Your Thinking
So much of the advice on improving your life involves changing your thinking about something. But just as you can’t get fit by working out for one day, you can’t change a belief by thinking a new thought once or twice.
Over the years, ideas like I’m no good at my job or I can only be happy in this city, become well-traveled paths in your brain. They’re familiar, so they’re easy to follow. To integrate a new idea into your thinking, very simply, you have to wear in a new path.
One of the best ways to do this is through the use of daily affirmations—phrases that represent the new idea, such as I’m doing a great job or I can be happy anywhere. Whether you choose to think, speak or write the desired belief, keep repeating it every day and don’t give up. With enough hard work and perseverance, lo and behold, your brain will make this new idea part of your reality.
