Lower Your Stress with This One Technique
Life's greatest joys come from being, not doing, but that doesn't mean you need to stop doing to experience happiness. You can be doing anything or doing nothing. Being is about letting life live you—allowing it to unfold and to lead you where it may. "To the outside observer, everything might look the same," says Sarah Maria, author of Love Your Body, Love Your Life. "It is simply your orientation that is different."
Maria suggests approaching life from the perspective of allowing. "Learn to shift your awareness away from being the doer and instead allow life to do you," she advises. For example, allow tasks to get done through you, not by you. If you're looking for answers, live the questions and allow the answers to come. "When you have an orientation of allowing life to unfold…," explains Maria, "everything gets accomplished with much more ease and less strain."
Throughout your day, whatever struggles you confront, remind yourself to allow and to simply be. The more you stop fighting and allow life to live you, the more freedom, joy and love you can and will experience, and the easier life becomes.
