Are Antidepressants Depressing Your Sex Life?

Wouldn’t you know it? You finally get your depression under control only to realize that your antidepressants are making your libido head south. To add further insult to injury, people often complain of difficulty reaching orgasm or even holding an erection. However, there are steps you can take to get your sex life back without having to slide back into depression. The Depression Guide at About.com says to first, speak honestly with your doctor. Despite any discomfort you might have discussing such intimate matters, these are all topics that your doctor hears every day. They will be able to help you determine if a lower dose might clear things up, or if you can change the time of day that you take it.  Another option is adding a sexual stimulant such as Viagra or even changing which drug you are taking. Speak to your doctor, you can have a healthy sex life on antidepressants!

Its always that way in the beginning of taking my antidepressant. Like if I've run out for a little while & go back on it, my libido is poof, gone. But it eventually returns to almost normal. Gingko Biloba helps with it as well. Gingko increases blood flow & thereby also helps with the sex drive.
