Seasonal Depression Awareness Month

Seasonal Affective Depression or SAD, is similar to “regular” depression that worsens during the winter due to limited exposure to sunlight. People often complain of significant appetite changes, craving starchy and sweet foods (bring on the cookies!) and find that no matter how much they sleep, they never feel well-rested. Symptoms peak around January and February as the days reach their shortest length. Read on at About Depression for a set of links describing symptoms, treatment and ways to cope when you’re feeling SAD.
