Researchers have found promising evidence that music therapy can be an effective treatment for depression. ScienceDaily points out the four of the five studies focusing on the use of music in depression treatment demonstrated that music had positive effects on reducing levels of depression. More research is needed to determine which types of music are most effective. This is good news for those people who are unwilling or unable to try medication. So load up the iPod and listen in when you’re feeling depressed!
