Be sure to get a medical check-up. You could have an underactive thyroid or another medical issue like chronic fatigue syndrome. If not those, maybe it's depression? When I'm depressed I feel as though I am paralyzed sometimes. I can't put one foot in front of the other. I've found it helps me to make lists of things I need to do. Just get one thing accomplished from the list and you'll feel better. Material written on overcoming procrastination is helpful, too. And be good to yourself! You would be understanding with a freind feeling this way so be understanding with yourself. Good luck.
I used to be very sluggish, no energy even if I had a full 8 hours of sleep - I had to do everything based upon will - how exhausting. I got my hormone levels checked and determined I wasn't producing enough progesterone. I started using cream and within a week I saw improvements. I get up and feel refreshed and full of energy for the entire day! It isn't willpower you lack! For a quick check go to Link then find a suitable doctor that understands bioidentical hormone replacement therapy on suzannesummers.com. The benefits are fabulous!

I heard that a glass of cold water and apple or applesauce, before your morning coffee with help your energy levels. I tried it and I felt better and more revivied than usual. So, now first thing I think of is a big red shiny apple, and it seems to bring me the energy to climb out of bed with a smile on my face.
I am usually on my back so I will extend one arm upward and say (oftentimes, out loud), "God, give me the energy to get going." Then, instead of waiting to feel enervated, I "act as if" I have been given just enough energy, and I start moving. It almost always works- move a muscle, change a thought, change your thoughts and you will change your life.
When you figure this one out, let me know. It's so hard to make that first movement. I know that it would help me in more ways than just my mood. Like the "4 month pudge" look I am sporting these days.
