Assess the reasons you want or need to make changes in your life. Take a long look at how you are living. Are you happy? Are you depressed, angry or numb much of the time? Do you feel that living your life has become merely an exercise of going through the motions?
Begin a regular exercise program. Exercise is a natural stress reducer and it provides a means to identify and heal emotional pain. It makes you feel and look better. It increases your self-esteem and confidence.
Make sure that you get enough rest at night. It is also important to check out if you are living a workaholic life style where you hardly ever rest or recreate. Take naps during the day.
Buy a couple of self-help books that appear to be interesting to you. Ask friends what they are presently reading and consider their suggestions.
Assess if you have problems with drugs or alcohol. Check out various online surveys from AA or NA to determine if you may have a problem. If so, consider seeking help via counseling or 12 step program.
