A Formula for Marriage
A new study from the University of Illinois at Chicago finds that the divorce rate falls as the age of marriage rises into the late 20s. (Um, we're sort of wondering why anyone would fund a study on conventional wisdom, but we digress.) One would assume that taking the time to find the right partner, as well as develop a happy life outside a relationship, would be key factors in avoiding the fate of the 43% of the marriages in the U.S. that end in separation or divorce.
There are piles of statistics on marriage and what makes a successful one. Those seeking romance can often find themselves confused, insecure and frustrated by all the noise and news, says the Wall Street Journal. However, if you let common sense prevail as you look for love, you may find your happy ending after all.
As you're you’re looking for a new relationship, try doing things the old-fashioned way. Go to school, pursue your dreams, meet and then mate. And as you choose a partner, make sure it’s someone you truly like. It may seem quaint, but enjoying the company of your mate at the end of the day will certainly make it easier to stay together.
