Look Out R2D2
When you watched “The Jetsons,” did your eyes skip right over Judy and go straight for Rosie the Robot? Did you have impure thoughts when you watched Vicki’s family fix her wires on "Small Wonder?” Well, you might want to start packing your bags for Japan, because the country that brought us Giga Pets and square watermelons is now introducing robotic girlfriends to the world.
Sega Toys has announced that “EMA,” which stands for Eternal Maiden Actualization, will be available for $175 for the mass market this fall.
"She's very lovable and though she's not a human, she can act like a real girlfriend," company spokeswoman Minako Sakanoue tells Reuters.
EMA is about the size of a Chihuahua standing on its hind legs and has a noticeable bust line. She kisses on command, hands out business cards, and can sing and dance. Uhh, singing and dancing? Maybe. Kissing on command? Plausible. But, handing out business cards? Maybe if her boyfriend is a pimp. Still, it’s hard to begrudge a company for trying to reach the market of “lonely adult men.”
If you could create your own robot girlfriend or boyfriend, what components would it have? [YouTube]
