Single Guys Get Prepared

Single Guys Get Prepared

Just when you thought it was safe to go in to a nightclub, its being reported that enterprising young men have begun slathering their chests with a common over-the-counter medicine in order to lure and deceive unsuspecting women into a new relationship. Some of the guys are callin' it H, as in Preparation H.

"The bodybuilders I know use it on their obliques—their love handles—to take away any lingering water weight before shows," New York bouncer and author Rob Fitzgerald told ABC News. "The guys in the clubs heard about this, and the use of it spread virally like some kind of internet [memo]."

But the medicine, which is used to shrink enlarged hemorrhoids, does nothing to enlarge the hopeful lotharios' chests. Nor does it serve as a home remedy for getting rid of baggy eyelids, muffin tops or flabby arms. It's pretty much limited to the general hemorrhoidal region.

Like the time when someone told every frat guy that a popped collar was his key to limitless booty, this isn't the first time a silly fad has swept through the dating scene. What's the most embarrassing gimmick you ever fell for in order to attract the opposite sex? [ABC News]
