Yum, Yum, Gimme Some!

Yum, Yum, Gimme Some!

Somehow the term "gastrosexual"—which has been coined to describe men who use amazing cooking skills to lure women—doesn't sound quite as appetizing as it ought to. However, the concept of potential suitors learning how to whip up a soufflé or a crème brûlée in order to attract women, makes perfect sense.

Britain's Daily Mail credits the rise in popularity of celebrity chefs like Jamie Oliver and Gorden Ramsay as the reason for this new trend. We think people are just hungry for some delicious food.

New research by food company PurAsia suggests that 48% of people say that being able to cook makes a person more attractive and 23% of British men take this into account when they prepare food in order to seduce a partner.

"Gastrosexuals can be male or female but the common denominator is their love of food. We found that cooking for this new generation isn't simply a matter of refueling. For them it's an enjoyable experience and something to be relished—they cook for pleasure, praise and potential seduction," said a spokesperson for the company.

Doesn't this post make you want to get your gas burners going? Why not take a cooking class with your new potential mate?

I agree with Dadeeyo on that one! I think even a chubby chef is attractive. There's something about a man knowing how to prepare a delicious meal that really speaks to me.
