The Right Fit

The Right Fit

Finding your dream job will take time, and when you’ve found a job you’re passionate about, and a company you’ll want to work for, all you want to know is if you’ll fit in. To make this easier, employers are now starting to post profiles and videos of their employees on their company’s website. Through these profiles and videos, you’ll be able to have a little insight into company culture.

Jeff Wittenburg, chief leadership officer with recruiting firm Kaye Bassman International says, “It’s becoming a powerful recruitment tool. Human nature makes us all attracted to anything visual. It gives you a sense of what the people look like (who) work there, how they dress and how they sound.”

We think that this is a great way for you to decide if you truly want to work at a certain company. However, you should not base your decision entirely on the company’s website. The websites are simply used as a tool for you to have a sneak peek at the corporate culture—and, of course, every company wants to make itself attractive to candidates. Only an in-person interview (or two!) will really let you know what goes on during work hours.

Tell us what's important to you in a job—and ask others who are seeking work what they are doing to pursue their dreams! [MSNBC]
