Another Update on the Job
By the way, thanks for all of your advise. I called and left a message with the General Manager providing a follow up with the Front Desk Manager position. I will continue to keep you posted. In the meantime, I am still currently keeping all my options open. I must stay positive, persistent and self-promoting, therefore to get my dream job.
I am currently reading the book called " Pitch like a girl" how a woman can be herself AND STILL SUCCEED" by Ronna Lichtenberg. It is a great eye opener on how to being yourself whether you are Pink, Blue or Striped(additional info from the book). I have not completed the book yet, I just wanted to provided resourceful info to women who are wondering why you are stuck in a stale position or not promoted yet( It is me too, that why I am reading the book).
That book sounds great. It's unfortunate when women feel they have to act like men or like anything other than themselves to be respected or get ahead at work.
So many companies would agree that female leadership is a good thing. Studies show that women are more communicative and collaborative and that can really help certain companies to be more successful.
Seeing successful (and kind and generous) women smashing the glass ceiling makes me very happy.
