Cat Wedding Nearly Leads to Divorce

Cat Wedding Nearly Leads to Divorce

An Egyptian couple has proven that compromise can save a marriage, even at the last minute.

It wasn’t the 50-year age difference that led a young Egyptian woman, named only as Khadiga, to file for divorce. The young bride had been begging her husband for an elaborate wedding for her cat, which would have included an elaborate ceremony for her cat at a five star hotel.

The husband arrived at the divorce hearings prepared to accept defeat, but he wanted to give his wife one last gift before their parting. He had arranged a similar ceremony at a less posh hotel that was owned by one of his friends. His wife relented and dismissed her request for divorce on the spot. If only all divorce settlements were so simple. She’s happy, his wallet gets a break, and kitty finally gets the wedding she deserves.

While this scuffle over feline nuptials may be a unique reason to seek separation, its often a trivial-seeming event or issue that can be the tipping point for a relationship. Before you take your case before a judge try to look at the issue from every angle to see if a compromise is possible. [RIA Russian News Agency]
