Children of Divorce: More Likely to Divorce Too?

Ok, bad news first. If your parents got divorced, you’re more than twice as likely to also divorce. However, there is some good news too. According to a recent study in the Journal of Marriage and Family, the increased risk is not due to substance abuse or psychological issues that are inherited. The study calls for increased attention on programs or counseling to help children be better adjusted following their parents divorce in order to prevent the cycle of divorce from continuing.
