Answer:

yes, My ex went in an snow jobed the therapist, my friends told me to go to a christian counselor I thought that it would make a difference since I went to church. The more counseling we went to the more abusive my ex became. I tried to tell the counselor that after our session he would verbally abuse me all the way home. My husband would write love letters to me and let the the counselor read them he told me my husband, that my husband loved me., and that I should not divorce him. The counselor made me feel like the bad person and didn't make him deal with his issues. So we stopped going. I left him in the dust think God.

Answer:

Yes. She was a terrible therapist and it was a complete waste of time and money.

That's the only thing my ex and I ever agreed on!

Answer:

Yes, we did, too. I think that we waited too long to go, but the end result of counseling was to confirm to me that I was making the right decision to divorce him. Although the counselor tried, he could never see that he had some major issues to work on. The counseling helped in the sense that it made me aware of the issues I needed to work on to be a better partner. I think counseling helps if both of you enter with open minds and if you both really want to save your marriage.

Answer:

Sure. But after one of his solo visits with the therapist he came home and told me the therapist didn't want to see him anymore. He didn't "need" to go. He said the therapist wanted to keep seeing me. The therapist was worried about me! Nothing of the sort was ever really said. I never looked back and I've never regretted my divorce.
