Kitchen Smackdown

Kitchen Smackdown

We bet that you hate cleaning your kitchen. Who doesn't? If only there were a cheat sheet for organizing and cleaning that part of the house on the fly...

Ask and you receive! Real Simple has created a nifty guide to help you tackle the kitchen, the room that attracts spills, smells, messes, but doubles as a meeting place for the whole family at the same time. It’s important to keep a place that should be inviting and comfortable in tip-top shape.

The first step is to clean that kitchen sink! It doesn’t seem like the focal point of the room, but you will be more likely to load the dishwasher and clean other surfaces if this depository isn’t full of dirty dishes.

The article splits up suggestions into daily, weekly and monthly tasks, including the amount of time each task takes. The daily tasks—wipe down sink, wipe down stove, wipe down counters, and swiffer the floor—should only take about five minutes total. Once you break something down into manageable parts, getting organized in the kitchen doesn’t seem impossible.

We'd like to hear from you. Do you have any kitchen-cleaning strategies? Please share, and help out the rest of us! [Real Simple]
