Global Warming is Ending!
Can we all take a moment to thank Oklahoma Sen. James Inhofe’s press people for putting out this gem into the world? Pointing to a story published in The Telegraph in the U.K., his latest press release states, in large type, “global warming will stop.” It refers to a study in the journal Nature that claims that certain global cycles may change and stop temperatures from rising.
In case you don’t know who Sen. Inhofe is, he is one of the loudest skeptics of climate change that you can find in the U.S. government. He was the head of the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, until the Democrats took over in 2006 and California’s Sen. Barbara Boxer became chairman.
Let’s not ignore the fact that in sending out this press release about this article, Sen. Inhofe has to acknowledge that global warming is occurring to point to a study that says it’s about to stop. Couple that with the overwhelming evidence that natural disasters are on the rise, ice shelfs are melting at an alarming rate and overpopulation is leading to smoggy cities that are accelerating climate change—well, are you really going to believe things are going to just stop?
If leaders in Congress, like Sen. Inhofe and others, are going to put out ridiculous press releases like this and refuse to do anything about a looming crisis, then we’ll have to lead the change. Building a green home and going green are great ways you can do your part to reduce our footprint and maybe slow the damage we've already done.
Do you think global warming will stop one day? [U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works]
Absolutely not! It will take major changes in all phases of our lives to make changes that could effectively stop global warming.
