Green Music
One of our favorite tech writers, David Pogue from The New York Times, has finally found a way to merge his passion for going green with his obsession with gadgets. In a hilarious video, he reviewed some neat media players that are also easy on the environment.
Companies are starting to make these “iPod wannabe’s” that use solar or human energy to power your music. If you're in a cloudy area, you can get the Baylis Eco Media Player which requires you to hand crank it for juice. If you're enjoying abundant sunshine, get your Media Street eMotion Solar player and charge it up while you catch a tan. The best thing about the eMotion Solar is that you can use it to re-charge other electronic devices in your life, like your cell phone, laptop, Blackberry or Playstation Portable.
Are they as sleek, efficient and cool as the iPod? Pogue doesn’t think so, but he does admire their ambitious nature. Though, if you’re the type to go camping and require hours of good music and video at your fingertips, or if you’re just tired of plugging in your iPod to charge it, these gadgets might be right for you.
