Is it Noisy in Here?
Paper cartons or glass? It seems like a no-brainer: glass, because it’s recyclable. But what about all of those carbon footprints involved with the transportation of glass back to a recycling center and the energy that goes into making it clean again. Some people, like public relations consultant Mary Burnham, admit to suffering some “information overload” due to conflicts of green-ness like this one.
With easy access to information, especially via the internet, there is no end in sight to a plethora of opinions on green issues. But, a few organizations are trying to make decisions easier by breaking down advice into bite-size pieces. The Natural Resources Defense Council initiated a “Simple Steps” campaign, while Greenpeace chose to categorize environmental concerns differently.
