Lights Out March 29th

We talk a lot about devoting various days to saving the planet, but on Saturday, March 29th, we’re only asking for an hour of your time.

Over 300 cities around the world are participating in Earth Hour. Starting at 8:00pm in New Zealand and rippling throughout the rest of the world, people and businesses are urged to turn off the lights for an hour to conserve energy and acknowledge the connection between our energy use and climate change. And some companies are having fun with it—one hotel in Chicago will offer check-in by candlelight and waiters in Phoenix will do their serving with glow in the dark necklaces.

Sure, it might not make a huge dent in your going green crusade, but why not give it a whirl and reconnect with yourself and your family without an electronic gadget? [Earthhour.org]
