Your Green Resolution

This Tuesday, April 22nd is Earth Day. No doubt you will be bombarded with articles, TV shows, advertisements and warnings from your friends about how bad the state of the environment really is and how you have to go green and create a green home as soon as possible.

But being more environmentally conscious isn’t just about jumping on the bandwagon—it’s about making your personal contribution to saving the world. Sure, you can sign a petition or watch a movie and be more aware of how bad the situation is, but what exactly are you doing to honor the planet? And do you feel personally connected to the change that you're making and how it is impacting the planet?

Think of Earth Day as your environmental New Year’s Day. Reflect about your current living situation and think of how you, personally, want to make an impact. Make your own resolution to go green that you can stick to and that you feel good about. It can be as simple as turning off the faucet when you brush your teeth or shave (which can save eight gallons of water a day), or it can be as deliberate as giving up your car for a bicycle. But the point is that you make a conscious decision to go green in a way that you feel personally satisfied, instead of just doing what you feel you have to because everyone else says you should.

What is your Earth Day resolution for the next year?
