Jittery Business Grads
Though college students are generally expected to do well in the job market once they graduate, business students are not feeling hopeful about their chances. Considering all the bad news in the media lately about the credit crunch and the mortgage crisis, many are wondering if they still have a future in their chosen careers.
Though business school administrators say that financial companies have not backed out of their offers to college graduates, many are worried that could change in an instant. Plus, many students have heard stories about grads in 2001 and 2002 who were laid off in the downturn, so they are worried that companies will be quick to do so again.
Unfortunately, if you’re an anxious business student about to graduate college and waiting for the shoe to trop, there’s nothing to do but to be patient and wait this out. One thing you should have learned in business school is that there are good times and bad times, but things always work out in the end. [The New York Times]
