Ye Old Graduate

Ye Old Graduate

All that talk about career centers on college campuses being helpful isn’t all hoopla!

The Wall Street Journal reports that “Not-so-recent college graduates are demanding more career assistance from their former schools as they face tougher employment markets.” Maura J. Murrihy, a 51-year old woman was laid off and within three months she was placed at a new job. During her unemployment, Murrihy worked with a career coach at her alma mater, Northwestern University.

So if you’re graduating college very soon, have no fear because your career center is there to help you! And if you're an alum who's seeking work, perhaps you should check in with your school. Take a look at some more success stories on The Wall Street Journal’s web site or share some of your college wisdoms with us. Anyone out there find a job—or at least an interview—through the career center?
