Overcoming Grief

kristen

Today, we know that many people are still mired in grief over events from the past. We acknowledge the hard road you continue to travel. Whether you're mourning the loss of a loved one as many families are today, or simply trying to move through your own grief, we have some thoughts to share with you that might help.

Ariane recently went on the radio program Healing the Grieving Heart. You can listen to the full program here: Link

Here's a bit of what she had to share:
"The best way to grieve is to grieve—that means not resisting the feelings. An Indian sage said there is no grief that cannot be gotten through if you sit in the middle of that grief and feel all of it completely."

"People who are good at change have very different questions that are going on in their internal dialogue. How can I celebrate what this person was? What could I do with this? Who else could I help? Could I contribute to a cause? Could I start a charity?"

"Another action that I've done when I have lost some loved ones around me is to really look for signs that they are trying to communicate. It could be through a color, a smell, a song, a memory, another person or something you hear on the radio, but look for signs that they are still very much present."

"You're not alone, and there's a possibility of really being held and supported not only spiritually but also physically. Let people help you. Let people in."

We encourage you to listen to the entire show...and share your own tips for getting through the tough days.
