More Money Guidance
"Do I really need the advice of a financial planner to have more money?" You can keep asking yourself the question, but if you are we're guessing you're not doing so hot on your own (no offense.) If you're looking for a certified financial planner or someone with another designation, Money has a few suggestions on what to look for in a financial planner:
Education. There are courses each planner must complete in order to be designated, and you might want to look for other designations (such as CPA) too.
Exam. Your planner must pass a ten hour exam. It might be nice to know how many shots they had at taking it, too.
Experience. Just like you probably don't want a student dentist, you probably want your planner to have at least a three-year track record with this stuff.
Ethics. That's just a no-brainer. Right?
If you've got other advice on finding a good financial planner, or think it's a waste of time and money, tell us here! [Money]
