Antarctic Scientists Saved by Condoms

If you were sentenced to spend a year in Antarctica, what would you pack?

Well, just in case the skeleton crew forgot to pack some extra Trojans in their suitcases, a special delivery of 16,500 condoms has finally arrived at the McMurdo base station. The 125 scientists and staff on base will be able to pick up the condoms for free, in order to avoid the embarrassment and wagging tongues that usually exist among such a small group of people. Hey, having a sex life on the coldest part of the planet is difficult.

The shipment couldn’t have arrived at a better time. The next scheduled sunrise isn’t until August 20 and those scientists are going to need to keep each other warm on those long dark nights and days. [ABC News]
