X Marks the G Spot
Forget about finding DNA on the Shroud of Turin, capturing Bigfoot on film or finding out just the right place to drop the disk in Plinko, a team of Italian scientists believes they have truly discovered the answer to one of life’s great mysteries—the female G spot.
Leave it to those amorous Italianos to discover the science behind the female pleasure zone. The scientists compared women who claimed they had experienced vaginal orgasms with those who had not by using ultrasound technology to scan their vaginal walls. They found that the first group of women had thicker tissue on the front side of their vaginal walls, thus enabling them to experience orgasm without clitoral stimulus.
The study seems to imply that if a woman lacks this extra tissue, she should quit trying and give her partner’s tower of Pisa a break.
However, Beverly Whipple, the American scientist who actually coined the term “G Spot,” says hold on there, Casanovas."It is an intriguing study, but it doesn't necessarily mean that women who don't experience orgasm don't have any tissue there," she says.
Whether you believe the G spot is a myth, a marvel, or a sports bar in Vancouver (we heard they have great nachos) you can improve your sex life by doing your own fun experiments. Here’s how AskMen.com explains how to find it:
“To locate and master the woman's G-spot, face your partner while she is lying on her back and insert your index or long middle finger into her vagina as far as it will easily go. Then crook it up toward yourself in a "come hither" motion, sliding your fingertip along the top of the vagina until you find an area that is rougher than the rest of that vaginal wall. (Make sure you have your fingernails clipped short and buffed before you do this—sharp fingernails will definitely spoil the effort.) This rough or slightly ridged area is the "G-spot," and touching it will often cause a woman to react with surprise or pleasure.” [Sydney Morning Herald]
