Oprah's 21-Day Cleanse
When Oprah makes a move, reads a book or buys a new dress, the world is watching. This time around, Oprah has jumped on the “conscious eater” bandwagon. She's is trying out a 21-Day cleanse by adopting a vegan diet and cutting out alcohol and caffeine. She is interested in which foods she misses, which she doesn’t and how she feels—mentally, physically and spiritually—at the end of it.
She was inspired to do this after reading Kathy Freston's book, Quantum Wellness, where Freston discusses the concept of “spiritual integrity.” She defines this concept as taking into consideration the lives (and deaths) of animals that make many of our eating habits possible. Oprah adds to this consciousness a few of her own ideas: chewing slowly, enjoying each bite and making healthy choices.
