Diarrhea Of The Mouth
So we’ve told you what to say during an interview, but how about what NOT to say when you're trying to land that new job? The mixture of nerves and excitement can cause some of us to have serious verbal vomit during an interview. A good interview should feel like a conversation and if your interview is going well, you may start to feel comfortable with the person and then have a slip of the tongue (yikes!). We say shh—think before you speak!
CNN gives examples of eight things to not say. For example, if you’ve just been fired and didn’t like your previous boss, please don’t mention it. Sure your boss may have been the devil in disguise, but don’t mistake honesty for trash talking. If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all—remember that Kindergarten rule? It still applies to an interview.
Check out the rest of the list! Then tell us your worst interview faux pas. How did you overcome it?
I mentioned how unprofessional my previous interviewer was. I didn't get the job with that company, nor did I get the job with the "unprofessional" interviewer. HAHA! It's okay because I learned not to say anything negative and I ended up landing at a place I love. :)
