"My interview with Ariane was nothing but smooth, professional, and a hell of a lot of fun. Not the usual 20 questions. Highly recommended." -Timothy Ferriss, #1 NY Times bestselling author of The 4-Hour Workweek

Yer Out!

Yer Out!

New York Mets general manager Omar Minaya has a little bit of Trump fever today. Early this morning, Minaya fired—Mets manager Willie Randolph, along with pitching coach Rick Peterson and first base coach Tom Nieto. The three men heard, “You’re fired,” shortly after New York’s 9-6 victory over the Los Angeles Angels yesterday.

This wasn't exactly a surprise to Mets fans. Last season, the Mets had experienced the greatest collapse in baseball history, and many felt the blame should lay on Rudolph's head. Though management initially stood behind Randolph and his coaching team, the Mets have been playing too inconsistently this season considering the talent they have, so someone had to go.

With more than 30 years of experience in baseball, we wonder where Randolph will go from here? Maybe he’ll decide to pursue a dream job outside of baseball? Whatever he decides to do, we know he’ll be successful. After all, he was considered one of the best managers in 2006, when he led the Mets to a league-best 97-65 record.

Tell us what you think about Willie Randolph’s firing. Do you think getting fired from your job requires a total career change? [The New York Times]
